Software Engineer — Backend • Distributed Systems • Full Stack

Software engineer specializing in high-performance backend systems, distributed infrastructure, and systems programming.

About Me

I am a backend and distributed systems engineer specializing in designing, building, and scaling high-performance infrastructure. With a deep technical foundation in Rust, TypeScript, Python, and Node.js, I architect resilient cloud-native systems capable of handling complex, data-intensive workloads.

My expertise extends across the entire deployment lifecycle. I leverage Docker and Kubernetes for robust container orchestration, implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, and maintain rigorous GitOps deployment pipelines with ArgoCD and Flux. My data layer and messaging experience includes optimizing PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, and RabbitMQ to ensure low latency and high availability. I deliver robust architectures, scalable CI/CD pipelines, and mission-critical backend solutions.

Chess

Real-time multiplayer chess platform with actor-based Elo matchmaking, authoritative game validation, and asynchronous tournament processing.

RustNode.jsNext.jsPostgreSQLRedisRabbitMQGRPCWebSocketsKubernetives

Key engineering

  • Designed queue-based matchmaking around Redis Streams and Consumer Groups, allowing isolated Rust Actix actors to process player pairing through a producer-consumer architecture.
  • Implemented Elo-based matchmaking using a BTreeMap for efficient rating-gap expansion while maintaining player-presence validation during asynchronous pairing.
  • Built a zero-polling tournament scheduler using Change Data Capture (CDC) to tail PostgreSQL WAL, dispatching delayed jobs to a two-phase Redis ZSET queue.
  • Architected a scalable gRPC game server and WebSocket gateway to minimize internal network latency, leveraging Redis Pub/Sub for high-throughput spectator broadcasting.
  • Developed Swiss-style and Round-Robin tournament pairing algorithms integrated with asynchronous worker pipelines to advance competition states.

Bookit

Distributed booking platform separating API requests, real-time seat coordination, payments, and notifications into Rust services and asynchronous workers.

RustNext.jsPostgreSQLRedisMongoDBRabbitMQGRPCMPSCKubernetives

Key engineering

  • Architected a distributed booking platform, utilizing a gateway for HTTP/gRPC edge routing, rate limiting, and circuit breaking to manage synchronous traffic.
  • Enforced reservation locking and transactional consistency by coordinating Redis Lua scripts with PostgreSQL transactions, preventing conflicting concurrent allocations.
  • Implemented an event-driven outbox pattern, pushing transactional database changes to a RabbitMQ consumer to guarantee at-least-once payment processing and idempotency.
  • Developed a Change Data Capture (CDC) worker to propagate MongoDB updates through Redis Streams for near real-time Elasticsearch synchronization.

Aquabid

Real-time forward and reverse auction platform using Kafka to order bid events and supervised Rust actors to process each auction sequentially.

RustNext.jsPostgreSQLGRPCRedisKafkaKubernetives

Key engineering

  • Designed a concurrent auction engine using a Rust DashMap actor registry and MPSC channels, tuning 64-byte cache-line alignment to eliminate false sharing during sequential bid processing.
  • Engineered an idempotent gRPC ingestion pipeline that durably appends bids to a Kafka event log, decoupling request validation from asynchronous backend processing.
  • Enforced strict transactional consistency by committing Kafka consumer offsets only after PostgreSQL successfully acknowledged the idempotent insert of the bid decision.
  • Structured real-time WebSocket room fan-out for auction state updates using Redis Pub/Sub, isolating high-throughput live state from the permanent PostgreSQL ledger.
